                    Jerusalem" teilnehmen.
–                   El Diario.es spricht mit mehreren Betroffenen im Gazastreifen.
–                   "Ich jätete Unkraut auf dem Feld. Plötzlich schossen sie auf mich. Die Kugel drang in ein Bein ein und explodierte dann im anderen",
                    erzählt eine Opfer.

"Ich habe ihn gesehen. Ich habe gesehen, wie der Soldat auf den Ausguck gestiegen ist und auf uns zielte". Das sind die Worte, die Se'afa Abu Sa'id mit großer Mühe auszusprechen versucht. Die Kugel des israelischen Soldaten durchschlug ihren Unterkiefer von einer Seite auf die andere.

Ihr Gesicht ist geschwollen, die Schmerzen sind unerträglich, vor allem in der winterlichen Feuchtigkeit und Kälte, die begonnen hat, sie hat Blutergüsse und man sieht noch die Stiche der Nähte. Auch das Alter spielt eine Rolle: Se'afa ist eine 65-j. Frau.

Sie war am 1. Dezember mit ihrem Mann mit dem uralten Pferdekarren, auf dem sie auch das geerntete Gemüse transportieren, zu den Feldern gefahren. "Ich schaute zum Zaun und sah einen großen israelischen Soldaten, der uns von ferne beobachtete", erzählt Se'afa. Die beiden alten Leute befanden sich etwa 300m von der eigentlichen israelischen Grenze, der grünen Grenze, entfernt. "Als er in seinen Militärausguck ging, sagte ich zu meinem Mann, dass ich Angst hätte und dass wir schnell von dort weg sollten", sagt Se'afa [...] Ihr Mann fährt fort: "Aber wir waren dort nicht allein. Dort arbeiteten Leute, Bauern, sogar welche mit einem Bagger, die Erde holten und viel näher am Zaun waren als wir."

Aber sie waren es, auf die der Soldat schoss. "Wir sehen nicht wie Jugendliche aus, die Steine auf die Soldaten werfen", sagt der alte Mann. "Es gab dort sogar Gruppen von Jungen, die Steine warfen. Außerdem haben die Soldaten Feldstecher. Sie wissen, wer wir sind. Es war eine Ungerechtigkeit. Warum haben sie auf uns geschossen? Wir sind arme Leute, die zum Arbeiten gehen, nicht mehr!"

Seit die Welle von Gewalt in den besetzten palästinensischen Gebieten begann, mehren sich die israelischen Angriffe auf Palästinenser, die nicht an den Zusammenstössen mit den israelischen Soldaten teilnehmen. Sie haben mit den Jugendlichen, die an der sogenannten "Intifada von Jerusalem" teilnehmen, nichts zu tun, es sind einfache Menschen, die auf dem Feld oder dem Meer arbeiten

Willkürliche Schüsse auf Bauern - Überall in der Welt ist das erste, was die Bauern machen, wenn sie aufwachen: sie schauen, wie das Wetter ist, bevor sie an die Arbeit gehen. Im Gazastreifen müssen sich die Bauern aber erst vergewissen, wie es um die Sicherheit steht: Gibt es Angriffe auf die Bauern oder nicht? Haben die gepanzerten Bulldozer begonnen die Felder umzupflügen oder nicht? >>>

400 palästinensische Minderjährige befinden sich in israelischen Gefängnissen

Entsprechend den am 20. November 2015 von der Gesellschaft für palästinensische Gefangene, einer Menschenrechtsorganisation, veröffentlichten Daten, befinden sich zur Zeit ungefähr 400 palästinensische Minderjährige zwischen 13 und 17 Jahren in israelischen Gefängnissen.
Die meisten der Minderjährigen wurden seit Anfang Oktober im besetzten Westjordanland oder Ost-Jerusalem gekidnappt; wer freigelassen wurde, erlangte die Freiheit nur mittels Kaution oder wurde zu Hausarrest verpflichtet.

Wie die Organisation berichtet, werden die Jugendlichen in Haft- und Verhörzentren festgehalten. Dort verbringen sie ein oder zwei Tage ohne Wasser und Essen und werden mit verschiedenen Arten von Folter, physischer und verbaler Misshandlung gezwungen Geständnisse zu machen.

Einige der Kinder haben außerdem bei ihrer Festnahme schwere Verletzungen durch Feuerwaffen erlitten, wie der 17-j. Jalal Sharawna aus Dura, dem in einem israelischen Krankenhaus ein Bein amputiert wurde ohne dass man vorher seine Familie konsultiert hätte. Der Direktor der Gesellschaft für palästinensische Gefangene, Amjad al-Najjar, bezeichnete den Vorfall als "komplexes und vorsätzliches Verbrechen"; so etwas machten die israelischen Funktionäre häufig mit verletzten Gefangenen, sowohl aus "Hass und Rache" als auch, um "die Kosten für eine ärztliche Behandlung zu sparen".

Die wichtigsten Gefängnisse in Israel, in denen palästinensische Kinder inhaftiert sind, sind Ofer, HaSharon, Ajafon und Megiddo. Nach den von palästinensischen Anwälten zur Verfügung gestellten Daten ist das Gefängnis von Etzion das Schlimmste von allen, was Schläge und Folter betrifft.

Erst vor wenigen Tagen genehmigte das israelische Parlament den Entwurf eines Gesetzes, das, wenn es verabschiedet ist, die Inhaftierung von palästinensischen Minderjährigen ab 12 Jahren erlauben wird. (Tatsächlich werden seit Jahren auch jüngere Kinder inhaftiert. Ü.)

In the early spring of 1916, Daher Nassar stood on a hilltop in central Palestine. Daher liked this piece of land, he felt good to be close to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus and along the ancient “Patriarch’s Road” to Hebron. A lover of the land, Daher decided to live with his family on the land in a cave. He wanted his two sons Nayef and Bishara to grow up connected to the land. Bishara dreamt and worked for the land to become a meeting place for people from all over the world, in order to build bridges of understanding and connect people to each other and the land.

It has been a struggle for the Nassar family to keep their land since the day of purchase in 1916. Throughout all those years facing empire after empire, but with steadfastness and hope, they managed to keep the farm until today. Let us celebrate 100 years of existence on the land.

The Tent of Nations will start the celebrations on March 30^th, 2016, which is Palestinian Land Day, by planting a tree on the farm. We would like to ask you, if possible, to plant a tree on that day in your own country as a symbol of hope for peace and justice around the world. Obama’s ISIS czar says we can’t defeat extremism without resolving Palestinian issue US Politics - Philip Weiss - President Obama’s new ISIS czar said yesterday that resolving the Israel Palestine conflict is necessary to defeating Islamist extremists.

Rob Malley, senior advisor to Obama “for the Counter-ISIL Campaign in Iraq and Syria” and White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, said at a New York conference that the conflict enables ISIS in two ways. Extremists “refer constantly” to the situation of Palestinians. So they would lose a recruiting tool if the matter were resolved. And the failure to resolve the conflict makes it “very difficult” to get “the kind of open cooperation that we really need to get changes on the ground”– because Saudi Arabia and other states can’t work openly with Israel as matters stand.

Malley said that resolving the conflict was not a “magic wand” to ending problems in the Middle East, but asked if ISIS’s next stop was going to be Gaza or the West Bank, he went on: I don’t know where the next stop will be but I think there’s a more basic point, which is that the absence of a resolution is fueling extremism. If you want to go to Gaza that’s self-evident. Whether ISIS is going to have a foothold there.. that’s a separate question. But I think it stands to reason that resolving this conflict would at least help, it wouldn’t resolve– but it would be a major contribution to stemming the rise of extremism, and to allow the kind of cooperation that is needed [to take on] what should be a common challenge, which is the challenge of ISIS, and of other extremist organizations. >>>

Rachel Corrie Sport Initiatives Aim to Counter Destruction of Israeli Policy in Gaza - The Rachel Corrie Foundation - It is July 2014, and more than a dozen people gather on the beach in Khan Yunis, the second largest urban area in the Gaza Strip. They line up plastic chairs around a television set, as groups of friends around the world are doing the same, to watch the World Cup match between Argentina and the Netherlands.

Anyone who has spent time in the Palestinian territories has felt the immense popularity of football, especially among the youth in Palestine. In Gaza, there are plenty of young football fans; the median age is 18. Lionel Messi’s surname and famous number 10 blankets the backs of countless Palestinian youth throughout Gaza as they play pickup games in their FC Barcelona replica jerseys, by far the most popular team in the territories.

Messi, the captain of the Argentinian team, takes the field for the semifinal match. Thirty minutes later, an Israeli airstrike explodes the cafe, killing nine of the young fans, aged 16 to 28.

The incident was a microcosm of the decades-long injustices leveled by the Israeli government and its military against the population of Gaza. The TV which the young men huddled around showed an Israeli broadcast of the World Cup match >>>

WATCH: Incitement against the Israeli Left just got a lot scarier - Mairav Zonszein - Four Israelis who work for leading human rights organizations woke up to a new, frightening reality after a video accused each one of them of being a foreign agent working to defend Palestinian terrorists.

A new video entitled “Foreign Agents – Revealed!” was released on Tuesday by Im Tirtzu, a neo-Mccarthyite, extreme right-wing group notorious for its public attacks against left-wing academics and organizations. In 2013 an Israeli court ruled that the group bears similarities to a fascist movement. Its leadership enjoys ties with Likud and Yisrael Beitenu politicians.

The video plasters the faces of the heads of four Israeli human rights organizations — The Public Committee Against Torture in Israel, Breaking the Silence, B’Tselem and Hamoked: The Center for the Defense of the Individual — directly accusing them of being “planted” by different European entities (Holland, Germany, Norway and the European Union, respectively) to aid and abet terrorists. I wonder whether any of these European entities has a problem with being accused of planting operatives in an “enemy” country >>>

Right-wing campaign portrays human rights leaders as foreign agents - Orly Noy - Israeli human rights leaders are now being portrayed as back-stabbing foreign implants. One minute and nine seconds. That’s the length of the inciting video published this morning by right-wing activist Ronen Shoval. In less than a minute-and-a-half, Shoval manages to sum up all the reasons why an Israeli court deemed it okay to call “Im Tirzu” — an organization he founded — a “fascist” group.

The video is part of a campaign by the group against foreign governments “planting” activists and groups belonging to Israeli civil society. It begins with a clip of a Palestinian man moving his knife toward the camera, as if he is trying to stab the viewer himself, while horror film music plays in the background. The video then goes on to accuse four Israelis who work for human rights organizations — Breaking the Silence’s Avner Gvaryahu, Hamoked’s Sigi Ben Ari, Ishai Menuchin of the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel, and B’Tselem’s Hagai El-Ad — of being “planted.”
