Viel Kritisches, Wissenswertes und Vernünftiges wurde über die israelische Justizministerin Ayelet Shaked, die sich zur Zeit in Deutschland auf Staatsbesuch aufhält, geschrieben, nachzulesen vor allem hier auf Palästina Portal. Und es ist gut so. Sie wurde scharf verurteilt als Politikerin und auch diejenigen, die sie eingeladen haben, wurden dafür heftig kritisiert.

Ich möchte kurz meine Wut zum Ausdruck bringen über ihre faschistischen Erklärungen, insbesondere nach dem israelischen Massaker in Gaza an den Palästinensern 2014, als sie meinte: Soll man auch Kinder töten, auch Frauen, sollen sie keine Schlangen mehr gebären.

Als ich gehört habe, dass sie nach diesen Äußerungen zur Justizministerin ernannt wurde, kannte meine Wut keine Grenzen. Nun versucht sie, und hat es auch geschafft, die schlimmsten israelischen Verbrechen gegen die Palästinenser zu rechtfertigen: Die Administrativhaft, Gefangenschaft auch für Kinder, Häuserzerstörungen, das Töten von Palästinensern "on the spot", ohne vorher den Versuch zu machen, einen Verdächtigen festzunehmen, Bewaffnung von Siedlern, drei Jahre Haft für einen palästinensischen Steinwurf, all das und mehr ist Ayelet Shaked.

Und deshalb ist es eine große Schande, sie mit dieser Einladung zu ehren, ihr Sympathie zu zeigen. Ayelet Shaked ist das personifizierte israelische System der Unterdrückung, Entrechtung und Enteignung der Palästinenser. Und das alles in einem Ausmaß wie kein Justizminister vor ihr. Es ist Zeit, daß auch in Deutschland die wirkliche Ayelet Shaked bekannt wird. - Tübingen, 8. Dezember 2015

Hillary Clinton - the Next Bought US President?

Von Hillary Clinton können die meisten deutschen Politiker in punkto Israel-Unterwürfigkeit noch viel lernen. Wer sich die Rede anhört, die Clinton vor dem Saban Forum am Brookings Institute gehalten hat, kann sich ausmalen, was auf die Palästinenser und die Iraner zukommt. Clintons Rede vermittelt den Eindruck, als sei sie auf Benyamin Netanyahu Mist gewachsen. Die BDS-Aktivisten können sich auf starken Gegenwind einstellen, wenn diese zionistische Parteigängerin US-Präsidentin werden sollte. Sie nannte BDS gegenüber Norman Brownstein, einem Anwalt aus Denver, "sehr heimtückisch".

Gegenüber Clintons Israel-Lobpreisungen hören sich Donald Trumps Vorschläge über den Nahen Osten geradezu rational an, sieht man von seinen sonstigen bizarren Aussagen über Migranten oder US-Muslims ab. Trump hat einen großen Vorteil gegenüber Clinton: Er lässt sich von der zionistischen Lobby nicht kaufen; dies hat er vor der "Republikanisch-Jüdischen Koalition" deutlich gemacht. "You won’t vote for me because you can’t own me”. In ihrer Israel-Servilität könnte Clinton nur noch von dem republikanischen Kandidaten Mario Rubio übertroffen werden, der "perfekten kleinen Marionette" von Sheldon Adelson, wie ihn Trump genannt hat.

Clinton blendet völlig die brutale Besatzungsrealität und Terrormaßnahmen der israelischen Regierung gegenüber dem unterdrückten und geknechteten Volk der Palästinenser aus. Von Besatzung sprach sie schon gar nicht. Auch auf Iran werden unter ihrer Präsidentschaft schwere Zeiten zukommen. Unter Clinton liegt die militärische Option wieder auf dem Tisch. Sie tat in ihrer Rede alles, um sich vom Iran-Abkommen zu distanzieren. Dass sie Netanyahu schon am ersten Tag als Präsidentin ins Weiße Hause einladen will, überrascht niemanden. Netanyahu wird ihr dann bestimmt einen Wunschzettel mit Aufträgen als Gastgeschenk überreichen. >>>

 Yesterday Hillary Clinton gave a speech in Washington at the Saban Forum of Brookings that included more pandering to Israel than any speech I’ve heard from any American politician. It was endless. Israel is a brave democracy, a light unto the nations, a miracle, its “prowess in war” is “inspiring,” and we must take the US-Israel relationship to the “next level.” Introduced by her good friend the Israeli-American megadonor, Haim Saban, Clinton bragged that she and Israel were born a few months apart, gave a shoutout to Israel’s former lawyer in the White House, Dennis Ross, and assured Ari Shavit the rightwing Israeli columnist that the military option was still on the table with Iran. In fact, she repeatedly slammed Iran as a bad actor and did all she could to distance herself from the Iran deal and from secretary of state John Kerry, who gave a more realistic speech the day before. She never mentioned the occupation, vaguely touched on settlements as a problem, and praised the late Clintonite Sandy Berger as a “steadfast friend to Israel.” Just as the Republican candidates had attacked Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement (BDS) at the Republican Jewish Coalition last week, Clinton said that BDS was hurting the U.S.’s ability to fight terrorism. This is language straight out of Benjamin Netanyahu’s office. Speaking of Netanyahu, Clinton was asked by Saban what she would do on her first day in office and she said dutifully: >>>

YouTube becomes Israel’s new battleground against Palestinians Israel/Palestine - Jonathan Cook -   Once it fell to politicians and diplomats to solve international conflicts. Now, according to Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, responsibility lies with social media.

Tzipi Hotovely, Israel’s deputy foreign minister, headed off to Silicon Valley to meet senior executives at Google and its subsidiary YouTube late last month. Her task was to persuade them that, for the sake of peace, they must censor the growing number of Palestinian videos posted on YouTube.

Netanyahu claims these videos spur other Palestinians to carry out attacks, exemplified by the weeks of stabbings and car rammings against Israeli soldiers and civilians. After the meeting, the foreign ministry issued a press release claiming Google had joined Israel’s “war against incitement”, and would establish a “joint apparatus” to prevent the posting of “inflammatory” videos. Google denied last week that any agreement was reached. >>>

Israel turns a journalist into a terrorist - Martin Lejeune - Since 2002, I travel to Israel. Since 2007, I work as an independent journalist for major dailes in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Since today, Israel considers me a threat to it’s national security. On Decemer 8, Israel’s Ministry of Interior deported me to Germany after I was interogated and guarded by State Security for 14 hours (from 4pm of Dec 7 till 6am of Dec 8) at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport.

The State Security officer told me: “You are denied to enter Israel because we consider you as a threat to the national security of Israel.” A member of the Border Control Administration said that I won’t be allowed to enter Israel for the next ten years. All officials of the State Security, the Immigration Department and the Border Police rejected to talk on the phone to a lawyer in Tel Aviv that I was calling several times that night.

A diplomat of the German Embassy in Tel Aviv said on the phone to me that he cannot influence the decision because it is related to the security of Israel. Israel is not a democratic regime. The government does weather respect civil rights nor human rights. The German authorities should urge Israel to respect civil and human rights and Germany has to hold Israel’s government accountable when both countries sign bilateral agreements. The two countries, that celebrate these days 50 years German-Israeli relations, sigend a Visa agreement and Israel is oblieged to issue visas to journalists who cover political affairs. Israel is violation the freedom of press by denying a journalist to enter it’s territory. >>>

Palestinian politician jailed for 15 months by Israeli court - PFLP member Khalida Jarrar sentenced for inciting violence and violating travel ban in case slammed as unjustified by supporters - An Israeli military court has jailed Palestinian politician Khalida Jarrar for 15 months on charges including inciting violence and violating a travel ban.

Jaffar, a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, was also fined the equivalent $2,600 on Monday during the case at Ofer prison. "Jarrar was sentenced to 15 months on the charges she was arrested for a few months ago, including incitement of terrorism," an army spokesperson told AFP on Monday. >>>

Video: Richard Falk and Ali Abunimah on Palestine - On 2 December, I joined Richard Falk in Santa Fe for an evening of discussion that ranged from the prospects for self-determination in Palestine and the special relationship between Israel and the US, to responses to the rise of Islamic State. Falk served as special rapporteur for the United Nations on the situation of human rights in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip from 2008 to 2014. He taught international law at Princeton University in New Jersey for 40 years.

Falk is the author of numerous books on global issues and international law. His most recent works are Palestine: The Legitimacy of Hope and Chaos and Counterrevolution: After The Arab Spring. After I introduced Falk, he spoke for about 45 minutes, focusing on US-Israel relations and the prospect for justice and peace in Palestine (video above).

This was followed by 30 minutes of conversation (second video), during which I put questions to Falk about the role of international law and boycott, divestment and sanctions in changing the situation in Palestine. We also discussed responses to the recent Islamic State atrocities in Paris, Beirut and elsewhere. The event, at the Lensic Center for the Performing Arts, was part of the Lannan Foundation’s In Pursuit of Cultural Freedom lecture series. >>>
